This miniature version of the famous Italian city was originally called this over a century ago, due to its intricate path of canals, and is located in the northern part of the area. The south side of Maida Vale is mostly residential, featuring lots of typical large Victorian and Edwardian era houses, making it quite an upmarket area. The water bus that takes you from Maida Vale to the London Zoo in Regents Park is well worth a go on.
