Accommodation in El Born

El Born is part of La Ribera district, located between the Gothic Quarter and the Ciudadela Park. Of noble origins, the neighborhood now hosts an active creative community. Here you will find the Cultural Center of the Born Market, the Gothic basilica of Santa Maria del Mar and the station of France. If you walk along Montcada street you will find the famous Picasso Museum, as well as a large number of beautiful medieval palaces and Renaissance and Baroque buildings.

UNIVERSITIES

Although El Born does not have any university campus, it is very well connected to the main universities. The Pompeu Fabra University, located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, is just a 10-minute walk away. Also, it is not necessary to use public transport to go to the University of Barcelona (Gran Vía de las Cortes Catalanas), since the journey on foot from El Born takes about 20 minutes. The Born is also a convenient area to live for those students who study at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. The journey to the university area takes about 35 minutes (10 minutes on foot to Liceu and 25 minutes using the subway).

ROOMS FOR STUDENTS IN EL BORN

Finding accommodation for students in El Born is a very good option for any university student, especially for those who study at the University of Barcelona or the Pompeu Fabra, since it allows to go to class without using public transport. The accommodation offer is wide and varied. Uniplaces has a great variety of rooms for students in El Born at affordable prices and of all kinds, from single or double rooms in shared flats (some with private bathrooms) to studios and one bedroom apartments, perfect for those who are looking for more comfort and autonomy.

TRANSPORTATION

As it happens with the Gothic Quarter, the metro stops are located at the edge of the neighborhood. The two main ones are Barceloneta and Jaime I, both on line 4. Some of the bus lines that serve the neighborhood are the 120, 51, H14, 45 and V15. From El Born you can arrive by public transport to Plaza Catalunya in 15 minutes, to Sagrada Familia in 20 minutes and to Sants station (with direct train connection to the airport) in 25 minutes. Most of the regional trains of Catalonia leave from the station of France, as well as some long distance ones.
