Barceloneta is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Barcelona. It belongs to the district of Ciutat Vella and is located on the sea shore, bordering the Olympic Port. Here you can find the famous Barceloneta beach and the History Museum of Catalonia, as well as the Ateneo de Barcelona and numerous bars and restaurants on the seafront promenade.
Many young people choose to rent rooms for students in Barceloneta, because in this neighborhood is the Campus del Mar of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, one of the reasons why the demand for university accommodation is high. It is also a convenient area if you study at other universities in the city. The main building of the University of Barcelona is only 15 minutes by metro from Barceloneta and the journey to the University Zone takes about 35 minutes (bus D20 to Paralelo and then L3 metro).
The main means of transport that serves the area is the metro line 4, whose main stop is Barceloneta, although the Ciutadella stop | Vila Olímpica is just a few meters from the Ronda Litoral. Bus lines 45, D20 and 59 also stop in the neighborhood.
