The Institut Quimic de Sarrià (IQS) has two faculties, IQS School of Engineering and IQS School of Management, where scientific-technical studies and economics and business ones are given, respectively. The IQS campus is situated on Via Augusta, located in the northern part of the Sarrià neighborhood. The nearest metro stop is Reina Elisenda (line 6), a 9-minute walk away. Sarrià Train Station is just 8 minutes on foot from the IQS.

If you study in the IQS and you are looking for accommodation near the faculty it would be a good idea to consider the following areas: Sarrià, Sant Gervasi, La Bonanova and El Putxet. All of them are located near the IQS, so you will not even need to use public transportation to get around.

From Sarrià you can reach the IQS in a short 15-minute walk. Sarrià-Sant Gervasi is one of the best neighborhoods in Barcelona and the journey to the university takes only 20 minutes. La Bonanova is located northwest of the IQS and you can walk to the school in less than 20 minutes. The Putxet is located next to the gardens of Turó del Putxet and has its own train station, although the journey on foot to the IQS takes about 25 minutes, so catching the train is not a must.

Another option is to choose relatively central areas of Barcelona that are well connected. The advantage is that you will be at the center of all cultural and gastronomic activity as well as nightlife. These are some of the most convenient downtown neighborhoods:

The Gracia district, which houses the famous Güell Park, is well served by public transport. You can reach the IQS in 22 minutes with the metro line 6 from Fontana to Sarrià.

From El Raval, the picturesque neighborhood where MACBA and La Boquería market are located, you have two options to reach the IQS. You can go by metro (line 3) from Liceu to Sants station and then take a bus from Numancia-Av. Rome to Via Augusta-Margenat (about 40 minutes) or go by train from Plaça de Catalunya to Sarrià (30 minutes, lines S1 or S2).

Living in L’Eixample is very convenient, since it will only take you 25 minutes to go to class. You must walk to Provença station and take the train to Sarrià.
