It sits by Santissima Annunziata Square, a gorgeous and quite setting, outside the busiest streets but just a couple hundreds meters from Duomo square and Accademia delle Belle Arti. This area is characterized by the presence of some of the most beautiful and important squares in the city, that house the impressive churches of SS. Annunziata, San Marco and San Lorenzo. Piazza SS. Annunziata has a typical Renaissance shape and structure and on the north side there is the church of that name. Though this square doesn’t find itself on many mainstream itineraries, You will love the apartment position, just a few steps out of the crowd. Santissima Annuziata square was designed by Brunelleschi (The same guy who did the cathedral's dome) to frame the view of the Duomo. From here you can easily go down towards the river or take a walk to Santa Croce and Sant'Ambrogio, two of the the most popular areas for restaurant and bars in the historical center. It was actually the heart of the city for a very long time, and even today for those who live in Florence, Piazza SS Annunziata is a crossroad for going in many directions... the train station, the Duomo or Piazza Beccaria. There are several important structures to visit in addition to the square, 8 minute walking distance for the Duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore), 15 miuntes from the Uffizi museum and Ponte Vecchio, and 18 minutes from the main train station of Santa Maria Novella.
