TUM (Technische Universität München) is the Technical University of Munich. TUM is regularly ranked as one of the best universities in Germany in the fields of science and engineering, as well as being one of the country's top research institutions. The university is a member of TU9, a society that incorporates the elite of Germany's institutes of technology, further strengthening its network of teaching and research resources. TUM's main campus is in central Munich, but some faculties are spread across the university's other two campuses, in nearby Garching and in Weihenstephan. TUM is one of the Europe's most popular destinations amongst international students, so you can expect to meet people from every corner of the world - striving for top-level education, of course. Furthermore, over 700 startups have been founded by TUM alumni, so let your entrepreneurial spirit run wild when studying here! TUM's main campus is easy to get to. Theresienstraße subway station, on the U2 line, is just outside the university. Alternatively, you can hop on Munich's tram (27 or 28) and take the scenic route to classes. The 100 bus also stops right outside TUM's main building.
