We were in Maria's place for a couple of months and during that time we really got to feel like we were part of the community around Santa Clara. The neighbours are great, the local shops and restaurants fantastic, and the market (which is seconds from the front door) amazing. If you stay here (and you make an effort) you can really start to feel at home in the neighbourhood. Not-so-plus points The apartment itself is very basic, but that is something of an old-town Lisbon thing. If you're expecting unlimited hot water, modern luxury kitchen, climate control, etc. you may be disappointed..
