Nottingham Castle
This magnificent 17th century mansion was built on the site of an original Medieval Castle and offers spectacular views over the city. Within the walls is a vibrant museum and art galleries, hosting both national and international artists. Guided tours of the caves beneath the Castle are also available where you can discover King David’s dungeon, the Duke of Newcastle’s Wine Cellar and Mortimer’s Hole.
Wollaton Hall and Deer Park
Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is one of the country’s finest Grade One listed Elizabethan mansions located within 500 acres of lovely parkland and lake. The house is now Nottingham Natural History Museum and at the Wollaton's Courtyard Stables you will find the city's Industrial Museum. Notice, that the parkland has a herd of deer which to admire and large-scale outdoor events and festivals are held here.
Galleries of Justice
Relive Nottingham’s past by visiting this Victorian courthouse and prison which been voted as England’s Best Small Visitor Attraction of the Year 2014. The Lace Market
The Lace Market is named after the booming lace trade that Nottingham was famous for in the 18th century. This hip and happening part of town is home to some of the city’s best restaurants, bars and shops. The cobbled streets and stunning architecture also make it arguably the most attractive area of Nottingham.
The Caves
Situated beneath the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre are Nottingham’s man-made sandstone caves, dating back more than 750 years ago. Within the cave walls you can find real medieval tannery and an air raid shelter utilised during World War II. Different tours are also provided.
Sherwood Forest
Take a walk around Sherwood Forest, home of the famous outlaw and let your imagination run wild while you relive Robin Hood’s steps. Feeling a bit romantic? Take the chance to visit Edwinstowe Church, where the legend says Robin Hood and Marian got married.
